Videos

Sometimes, a picture simply is not enough. Videos have that great ability to share the true character and, well, noise, associated with The Thundering Herd. This page is dedicated to sharing those moments in life around here. Just click on the title to be taken to the video page for that selection.

Dog Park

(November 24, 2007) – At the dog park, we are known as the Siberian Street Gang. The other Siberian you see in the video is Tartok (the black and white Sibe who is clearly trying to get Kiska’s attention). No, he is not mine. The dogs are enjoying a game of tag.

Supper Time

(July 4, 2007) – Supper time is a highlight for dogs, right? So watch the happy dance as food is served. Notice that everyone knows their spot and not a word by me. Also notice that the entire feeding is 2 minutes (Kiska’s bowl is down for all of 55 seconds). Do they actually taste it ever? In order of being fed is Natasha, Rusty (quite the happy dance), Kodiak, and Kiska.

The Howling

(January 13, 2007) – We are blessed to live on the side of a mountain. The road up the mountain is two lane and far enough away from the house that we don’t hear the little bits of noise that sometimes occurs. However, behind the house on the back side of the mountain is a ski resort. During the ski season, it is not unusual for an ambulance to come to pick up one of the guests. And, of course, the Thundering Herd becomes the Singing Herd. My favorite part of the video is at the way they end – sort of like a band that does not quite know when to stop the song.

Wrestling

(December 26, 2006) – Owners of Siberians know this part very well. Sibes loves to play. And their play is just a little rougher and a little louder. Several things to notice in this video. 1) Rusty never moves off the couch. 2) Kodiak is walking around with a toy in his mouth because he does not know which game is being played. 3) Natasha will not let the game stop. 4) This video gives me the ability to show off Kiska’s unique voice. If anyone can describe that better than a honk, please let me know.
