Snow Flake Lane

For those of you who do not know Qannik’s story, he was turned into the shelter by his previous owner.  When the hu-dad looked at him, he knew that several things would change.  The fur would grow in to cover the scars on his paws from standing on a suspended wire platform and the cuts on his neck from a rope tie-out.  But, most importantly, his name – Snowflake – was going to change.  So we renamed him Qannik – Inuit for Snowflake.  Qannik has come a long ways and, today, he embraces his roots with all of the fame it brings:

Sorry, Bricey, we looked for “Monkey Noise Boy” Boulevard (the things you learn on Facebook), but could not find it.

That would be Mr.Monkey Boy to you!

And in reference to MFT’s comment, vacuum cleaner attachments that have animal hair bristles are very tasty and spread all over the house nicely. Dad thinks that some may be reappearing in a few days.

Qannik – you’re an amazingly resilient dog. You won the lottery when you were chosen to join the herd! I’m glad that your skin and soul have healed. And, I love your ‘new’ name.

To your HuDad: You’re an amazing dog savior. An inspiration.

I am so happy woo rescued Qannik, no dog should have to live like that! We like his name cause its “sounds” like my dad’s last-name nickname: Kunick. If he came to live with us, would he be Qannik Kunick? And if we lived in Canada, would he be Quannik Kunick the Canuck? Ha-roo roo rooo!

What a beautiful pup! And he does look like a snowflake – white, unique, perfect! It saddens me greatly to hear of his previous life and how horrible his days must have been, but at least he has finally found love and affection. I think the name Qannik is perfect. Thank you for sharing is happy ending story!

And I am very impressed to see a dog have a street named after him! He deserves it after his previous life. Yeah Qannik!

    Hi Mr. Wall,

Qannik is an interesting name. I say that not because I know Inuit, but because it begins with a Q. I don’t know of many names that begin with a Q:) Your Qannik is very handsome, and he’s as fluffy as snow:) So the name is apt. Thanks for sharing his story…I hope that his first owner sees him today and regrets his sick act of disowning him.

I also want to thank you and the herd for stopping over and encouraging us during the post-burglary period.

    Licks n wags,
    Oorvi
