When we go camping, it is just non-stop excitement.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the victims and victims’ families of the tornadoes of the last few days, particularly the Moore, OK, tornado.  As always, we are thankful for the first responders and volunteers who ran into danger to save so many.  We also want to recognize all of those teachers who did everything they could to protect their young charges.

Kiska has a terrific idea for the weekend, so we are loading up the RV and taking off to Big Ridge State Park near Knoxville, Tennessee. Besides, someone has a birthday tomorrow and we will be celebrating that. We promise pictures from our adventures!

With all of the bad weather the last couple of weeks, grass mowing Sibe Quentin has been subject to a rain delay. Sunday was finally the perfect, sunny day, so we insisted that he harvest – er, mow.

Look, everyone, we can actually walk without being tickled.

I am so glad the hu-dad did not carry out his threat to tie an orange flag to my tail so he could monitor me.

Come with us as we hike with some new friends!

Combining hiking with meeting new canine friends makes for a perfect Saturday morning!  Our veterinarians office, Animal Hospital of Waynesville, sponsored a Saturday morning hike for clients at Graveyard Fields.

Graveyard Fields is a valley with the stream Yellowstone Prong flowing through its center, creating water falls both at the upper end of the valley and the lower end (named, creatively enough, Upper Falls and Lower Falls.  With the valley floor still above a 5,000 foot elevation, the air is usually cool and perfect for hiking.  This is an excellent area for early and late season hikes, though we avoid it during the summer tourism season because of the crowds.

The younger and bouncier version of himself, of course. (Appropriately named River, by the way).

Yes, we all had fun playing in the water.

We even had somepup who looked a lot like us (complete with the mud on the nose).

But, he did win cute photo of the day!

P.S. – Plans are being drafted for another hike, so we look forward to seeing these friends again – and meeting some new ones on the next hike.
