Qannik (aka Q-Tip) here to report on a very rainy Sunday.
And we mean like an inch (25 mm) of rain and near freezing temperatures all day.
But it is sort of cool to watch the rain drain through the rain chains.
A good day to curl up and nap.
P.S. – Don’t let Q-Tip fool you. He spent most of the day sprawled in the den floor in front of the fireplace.
Hey, hu-dad, I just wanted to say thanks again for our great new Sibe Quentin space. I am having so much fun.
I might have a wee bit of mud on the paws, but I am not really sure how that happened.
For some reason, there are muddy paw prints all over the decks, too.
We are all out in the yard searching and searching for the culprits.
Kiska is searching for clues everywhere.
Qannik is even making sure that this hole does not suddenly move and throw mud anywhere.
Well, back to the hard task of finding out where all this mud is coming from.
You can rest easy with me on the case.
Right, little brother?
To say it was a rainy Tuesday would be an understatement. We had over 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) of rain. Here, you can not even see Cataloochee Ski on the next ridge.
So when the sun popped out late afternoon and we could finally see the ski resort, we decided we had better take advantage.
Nothing like a long walk after being cooped up in the house for 24 hours.
But as we neared the half way point – and longest distance back to the house – the clouds began rolling back in.
Here, you can barely see Hemphill Bald – and our house is in that direction. This would be the point when the rain returned.
Kiska wants everyone to know that she got a little wet.

We spent much of our Sunday dodging rain storms, but this one caught us.
Of course we did not have the windows in the Jeep. We rarely put them in no matter what the weather.
So we might have hung out at this gas station for a while under the canopy. And a car wash a little later in the day.
The Queen says it is good to stay dry.
Though hu-dad did not always succeed in keeping us dry.
And hanging out at the car wash was much more boring than the gas station.
Apparently no one washes their car when it is raining – which means there were no visitors to stop and scratch our ears. Sigh.
