Shadow Shot Sunday – The Oops

Rusty, look, the hu-dad thinks he is just getting a picture of us and does not realize that his shadow is in the picture.

Let's both point at it and laugh so it's obvious.

Happy Face

We had a beautiful, cool weekend and spent much of it outdoors. The dogs, as always, loved being outside and active, but we thought this picture of Rusty just shouts joy.

Smiling Rusty!

Chilly Paws

We have not had much snow yet this year, and what little we have had has melted in most places.

But there are some north facing areas that retain the snow throughout winter.

Rusty sure is smiling to have some chilly paws.

Hey, we are having to make do this winter.

Waiting

Rusty here. Just hanging out on the hu-dad's lap.

You know, waiting for that weekend thing to start.

Happy Thanksgiving

Hope all of our US friends have the Happiest of Thanksgivings. During all of your feasts during the day, pause for a few moments and give thanks for all of the good things in our lives.

Frankie says he is thankful to have a big brother - even if he is a little weird sometimes.

More Working Breed Demonstration

Yesterday, I showed you how, as a working breed, we are asked to work even on a casual walk.

Do you think looking this regal doesn't take a lot of work, too?

This working breed stuff is exhausting. I think I need a nap.

Litter Patrol

Obviously, we love the great outdoors and spend as much time as we can on the trails in our area. Unfortunately, some people do not respect nature as much, so we find litter in a lot of places. Rather than get mad about it, we remind ourselves that there are far more good people than bad. We simply believe that if each of us took the effort to pick up a few pieces of trash on every hike, the litter would not be an issue. So the next time you are out on a walk, follow Rusty’s lead.

Everyone thinks I am just a pup that plays a lot of games, but I am a working breed.

If every pup picked up only one piece of trash during each walk.

Get it in gear, Qannik, pick up some trash.

Tired Thursday

Qannik warned me.

Rusty sure told me about it.

Cheoah even crashes from it.

Boy, do these humans believe in "A Tired Sibe is a Good Sibe."

Frankie Figuring Things Out

Frankie here, trying to figure out all of the new rules of a new house.

Like when we are all out for a hike in the woods . . .

. . . Why does that funny red-headed dog, Rusty, walk behind the humans legs?

Tilley Time – For Zim

Several weeks ago, we posted a picture where we could see our humans in shadow.  We commented on our hu-dad’s funny looking hat.

The Herd sightseeing by walking down the Battery in Charleston, SC. P.S. – Yes, the hu-dad was wearing his goofy hat as you can see in the shadows, but he was NOT wearing his camouflage socks with sandals.

Zim, of the A04, posted a comment, “The hu-dad doesn’t wear a Tilley hat, does he? BOTH our mom and dad are wearing them for garden stuff or golf. I don’t quite get it. Maybe I should try one on.”

Now we are quite with impressed with Zim that he could pick out the make of hat from a shadow.  But then Zim upped the ante with yesterday’s comment, “I think Rusty needs to try on the Tilley hat! C’mon! I’ll give one a go if you will, Rooster!”

Ok, Zim, you are on.  Rusty says he expects to see your pictures soon.

You want me to wear what?

AND I have to cover my ears?

But I am not going to smile.

Who am I kidding? Rusty the Rooster can turn anything into a game.

Oh – and the rest of you – Zim and Rusty are throwing down the paws. Let’s see those hat pictures.

P.S. – Zim has posted his response here.
