Side Effects

On the picket line, some dogs dig a small indention in the ground to sleep in.

Cheesewhiz considers her digging to be more of a work of art.

Let's just say she really gets into her work.

That smile says it all.

Her neighbor, Q-Tip, is not as impressed.

As all of the debris comes flying in his direction.

Sort of a problem when you have an all-white coat. Well, a formerly all-white coat.

Jeep Safety Rules

I am so ashamed. I forgot one the basic Jeep rules.

When you have white fur, did you know you must keep your head inside the Jeep at all times?

If you forget, you get mud freckles. Makeup!

Tired Thursday

Qannik warned me.

Rusty sure told me about it.

Cheoah even crashes from it.

Boy, do these humans believe in "A Tired Sibe is a Good Sibe."

Walking with the Red Team

Ever since Frankie joined the black and white team,

several readers have asked how Qannik is doing walking with the red and white team.

Does this smile not say it all?

Besides, there is extra room on this team since some pup never seems to walk in line.

Qannik’s Sunday Stories

Our weekend weather was spectacular – clear blue skies and highs in the 60′s to low 70′s (18-21C) depending on altitude – perfect hiking weather.  We decided Sunday morning to hike to the top of Mt Pisgah – elevation 5,721 feet (1744 meters).   Once at the peak, we settled on the rocks to enjoy the stunning views.

Kiska enjoying the cool breezes of the peak of Mt Pisgah.

The morning invited many other hikers, including several families.  One little girl, Caroline, was enamored with Qannik and settled in beside him and stroked his fur.  Qannik loved the attention.  He also loved the pack of peanut butter crackers she was eating.  Unfortunately for him, a hu-dad was paying careful attention and he never succeeded in grand theft cracker.

The best moment with the little girl came near the end of our rest break.  Her dad told Caroline and her brother (whose name we never got) to get ready to go.  The little girl looked up at her dad in shock and asked, “You mean we have to hike back down?”

Shadow Sunday

Woo - look at our shadows all out for a walk with us (including the hu-dad's silly hat).

Qannik refuses to look at his shadow.

And Kiska let's the hu-dad know that he is slowing down the walk by trying to take pictures, so we had better hike on.
