Finding Parking

Rusty the Rooster here. Lots of walking today, so I am a little tired. Just need to find a little spot to park and rest.

Oops, guess I can't park here. That would cost the hu-dad some kibble funds.

Kiska, you can not come within 25 feet of this. Just saying.

Oh, stop laughing, Natasha. Not like we haven't heard your crate rattle.

Pups, they do make it tough around here to find a good place to park.

Awesome, parking is over there.

Yet another problem solved by Rusty the Rooster.

Spectacular Saturday

Can I share with you how spectacular our Saturday was?

The air was cool and clear, so the normally "Smoky" mountains were actually quite clear. So clear that the white spec you see on the left side?

That spec is Harrah's casino on the Cherokee reservation. We took the picture from the top of Waterrock Knob on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Looking in the other direction we could see down into our town, Maggie Valley.

And on the opposite side of the valley you can see the high altitude fields of the 1000 acre Cataloochee Ranch, our neighbors.

The views on these clear days are stunning. I could stare at them all day.

Stunning, isn't it?

The Rare Kid Who Does Not Respond to The Herd

Bet you can not resist the Kiska charm.

Come on - lighten up.

Ruby Tuesday – Sisters in Paw

The Herd was off camping and never saw their cousins of The Herd Annex this weekend, but, somehow, Sisters in “Paw” Ruby and Kiska decided to share a similar event on Saturday.  Guess it was just that kind of day:

Ruby here. What are you staring at?

Oh, these? Just a little yard work.

Kiska here. A hundred miles away because we are camping, but I stay connected with my "sister in paw."

There was this creek, see, and I was just walking along the edge . . .

Wind in my Hair

You know what I like about riding in the Jeep?

The wind in my hair.

Water from the Sky

With the weekend upon us, no work crews showed up to solve our indoor water problems.  We are becoming quite efficient at moving water from the well to the house, so we are doing fine.  So the best way to get away from problems like this is to hit the trails.  Just one problem.  We had an overabundance of water – from the sky.

Look at all of that rain coming down.

Stopped that rain and fog yet, Your Highness?

Posing on the Bench

Did you see Rusty posing all Zen like on this bench yesterday?

He is not the only one who can "strike a pose."

Hu-Dad says ignore the nose art on the windows and the fur balls on the floor.

Just focus on my beauty and my fluffy tail.

Oh, and here is Rusty as you really know him. Nice scary face, Roo!

Excited for the Weekend

It is Friday. We are in the Jeep. Can you knock off work early, hu-dad?

We are looking forward to some better temperatures here as the high is supposed to be about 10 degrees lower on Saturday (74F (23C) in the valley, so probably a high in the 60′s at the house).  We could only hope that is a first sign of fall.

Fresh Cut Field

Remember this?

Notice anything different about our field?

Kiska enjoys the freshly cut grass (and the green paws)

Hazards of Working in the Den

Lapdog and laptop compete for space.

Guess who wins?

Got time for an ear scratch?

The Queen is shocked she has to share her couch with a human.
