Terribly Tardy Tuesday

We have complained before about the lousy service we get from our human staff.  Here we were enjoying our holiday weekend when we casually asked them about the thank you post to Lucky Luke and Bleu.  You know, for his  500th post winner.  The silence was deafening.  Uh, you remember that giant package that we got in the mail that Natasha carefully screened for all of us:

The one with the great note in it:

Winner

The one with the humongous load of goodies in it?

IMG_4240

Wow.  Our humans are so pathetic.  But let us be clear – The Herd really, really, really enjoyed all of the treats and bones and all of the great goodies that came in the box.  And we wooed thank you many, many, many times.  So, in case we have been unclear – THANK YOU LUKE!

Our humans are confined to their crates until they learn better manners.

What an Honor

If you have never visited the wonderful Life with Dogs Blog, now you have your perfect excuse!  They are wacky, zany and drop dead hilarious.  We never know what crazy thing they are going to do next.  And now we know they have no limits to their insanity.  We know that because they have listed us among their Top 10 Recommended Dog Blog List.  We would say that this proves that they have no taste, but the OTHER blogs on the list are fantastic.

And, in their usual fashion, 11 Blogs are listed on their Top 10 list.  We love dogs that ignore the rules – a Siberian trait.  So maybe they did list their Top 10 . . . and us!

All kidding aside, we are truly honored to be on this list among such distinguished bloggers.  Thank you!  As our way of showing thanks, this blog is done in Life with Dogs fashion.  Enjoy . . .

Awards and Thoughts

First, the Cheese-Whiz (aka, Cheoah) would like to think everyone for their well wishes yesterday on her Cheoah-versary.  She had a great day of hiking with The Herd, which is the way The Herd has the most fun anyway.

We would like to think our buddy Jackal for this great award.  This award comes with rules, but since we are Siberians, we struggle with rules.  If you are really curious, follow the link above back to Jackal’s page – that is where the fun is anyway.  Meeting new bloggers!  But we did like rule 7 – Have fun.  Ok, that one we can handle.

3rdaward

Mostly today, we are thinking of our friends Eva and Brice and their humans.  Today is a day of reflection as beautiful Tasha left this world a year ago to go to The Bridge to be with so many others (including members of The Herd), and to watch over her family.  Please let them know that everyone is thinking about them on this difficult anniversary.  With all of our kidding of Bricey, we think he is doing a great job of helping his new family.  We are sure that Tasha is whispering in his ear regularly about the right things to do.

Happy Hearts

Woooooo!  We are celebrating!

Our cat buddy, Huffle, was running a contest where the prize was Happy Hearts Cookies!  Here was our entry:

We think Happy Hearts Cookies will help us to:
- make Queen Natasha the Evil less Evil
- make Rusty the Rooster even more silly
- make Kiska’s wooly coat even woolier
- make Kodiak’s hugs even sweeter than they already are
- make Qannik more “masculine” so “Bricey” will quit picking on him
- make Cheoah less whiny

Now we know that is a pretty tall order, though we do not know which part will be the most difficult.  We also, by the way, think the totally suck-up to Huffle blog post we had the other day may have helped.

When our sampler arrives, we will be glad to post the results here to let you know how well it went!

And, thanks again, Huffle, Zim of the A04, and Happy Hearts Cookies!

Introducing a Friend

Qannik is so incredibly honored.  He – and the rest of The Herd – were introduced in a very touching tribute on the Op Pack’s blog just yesterday.  Since he is such a fan of his older twin Dakota, he is almost embarrassed with all of the fuss:

img_2701

Here is the deal.  Daisy had a birthday and her birthday wish was to make new friends via this contest:

daisy-contest-logo

Here are the rules:

We all have lots of blog friends, and often make new friends by looking at each other’s blogs. But sometimes there are so many, it’s hard to pick. So to enter our contest, we want you to put a post on your blog about one of your friends or group of friends, and why they are special. We are encourging you to pick someone who is not as well know, so we can meet some new friends, but you don’t have to. If you want to let us know about some special friends, that is alright too. When you make your post, please link back to our blog so anyone that wants to get in on the contest can find us. Also, please leave us a comment about your post, or drop us a pee-mail at tuckerdaisy@gmail.com.

Isn’t that cool?  We thought that was a really creative way to celebrate a birthday, so Happy Birthday, Daisy, and thank you to the Op Pack!

Qannik is now going to go dream about the beautiful Dakota:

Punishment

This picture is our proof:

img_2667

Yep, that would be sunrise.  On a Saturday morning.  The Saturday the humans planned to sleep in a little.  Until we had a big wrestling match.  On the bed.  With them in the bed.  Amazingly, we got invited to “go outside.”  But it was too late.  They were awake.  And punished.

P.S. – Now we are singing loudly for our breakfast.

Shame

We blame this on our human assistant.  Seriously, we are all way too cute to actually make a mistake on our own and the bi-peds are clearly inferior to our intellect and skills.  After all, they go “work” every day so that they can earn enough money to feed us, entertain us, transport us, etc.  So we are clearly the superior species, right?

So, anyway, we had our human assistant share all of our awards the other day.  Only, they forgot one.

We can hear it now.  Because the blogger was a cat, we ignored them.  But hear us now, we would never ignore a cat.  Cower at the hissing and the claws, yes, but ignore, never.  Besides this cat is cute and adorable.  In addition, Huffle is running a competition and the prize is Happy Hearts Cookies, so we are currently kissing some serious kitty-cat butt.  So we have chewed on, jumped on, and clawed the human assistant and insisted that they publish this heartfelt and sincere apology.

Yep, A MONTH AGO, Huffle awarded us this fantastic award:

As punishment for being so slow, the human assistant will be made to share the human bed, the human couch, and selected human food as well as walk us and take us for long hikes.  Wait, that happens anyway.  Suggestions for other punishment for our pitiful humans?

Awards

We get really behind on the awards sometimes, but we do really appreciate them.  But since we get behind, we lose track of who has and has not received them.  So these awards are being passed on to our readers – thank you!

First, Kodiak from Team Husky nominated Kodiak of The Thundering Herd for this one -

ludosaward

According to the interpretations that are floating around, it means “Proven.  Your blog has sweetness.”  Kodiak says he is honored and thank you.

Thor and Marco Polo shared this award with us:

We particularly liked this because Thor has been at the Outer Banks this week.  This is what he said, “The Thundering Herd who travel around showing us the world from their RV.”  Well, that is really cool because we are taking the S-RV out starting Thursday and also heading to the beach.  So you know what that means, don’t you?  Yes, Cheoah is practicing her S-RV face:

img_2121

Oh, yeah, we are supposed to list 6 things that make us happy.  You see this coming don’t you?  Natasha, Rusty, Kiska, Kodiak, Qannik  and Cheoah.   How dare we name six of anything else?

And from our good neighbor to the South (ok, a few hours South), Ozzie the Ozzball:

from-huffle

Why do we love blogging?  Because blogging helps us humans remember all of the little things that our furry friends do everyday that seem so routine, but make so many memories.  The original Herd may not have had a blog written daily about them, but they are the heritage of the current Herd and were the inspiration for the original Thundering Herd web page.  So we leave you with a couple of pictures of the Original Herd – Cocoa (the blond Corgi), Ginger (the red headed Chow mix), and Nikita (the first Siberian and mentor to Queen Natasha the Evil).

Award

Thanks to our good friend Dannan at The Little Brown Dog’s Blog, we have been awarded this great honor:

Butterfly Award

The official rules are:
- put the award on your blog
- put a link to the blogfriends who gave it to you
- choose 10 (er, let’s make that 3) other blogfriends to give the award to
- post links of nominees I’m passing this award on to.

So, in that spirit, we are passing the award on to:

Turbo (Who should be our President)

Khyra (Who should be our Vice President)

Biloxi (Because he looks so much like Rusty)

Pass it on!
