Travels with Casey

This weekend, we had the pleasure of hosting Benoit Denizet-Lewis and Casey.  Benoit, a New York Times magazine writer, is writing a book on his travels across America in an RV with his canine pal Casey.  You can follow their exploits on their Facebook page, Travels with Casey.  Joined by research assistant Sam Reid, they came along on one of our hikes on Sunday to the top of Hemphill Bald, one of our favorite hikes on Cataloochee Ranch.  The views from the peak are outstanding and Sunday was one of those beautiful, clear, blue-sky winter days.

Looks like it was a perfect Sunday for a hike. And such a beautiful area for a hike, as well. I can see why it’s one of your favorite places to go.

Casey must really trust Benoit to let him go off-leash like that.

    Hi Y’all,

Don’t you just love hiking along the balds? Although a windy day can be a wee might challenging.

    Y’all come back now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog
