Plucking out the fur is my favorite part about huskies blowing their coat
Yup we admit it, we are trying to reach through the screen and pluck some of your blowing coat :p
Licks and lots of grooming slobber,
Lexi and Jasper the Danes
OMG, I remember those days with my Angel! Pulling clumps of hair or brushing it out—man, I swear you could knit mittens with all that hair!
actually there is a place in Alaska where you can ship all the fur/hair and they make yarn from it, so you CAN knit thing with it. no joke! it was in MUSHING! Magazine.
I had a friend spin some of Zoe’s fur but most of it was too short to spin successfully. Using just the undercoat fibers, they need to be at least 1.5″ long, and Zoe’s were more like 1″. She ended up spinning the fur with some wool, and it made a cozy yarn.
Mum says she already has enough tumbleweeds in the house thanks to Teddy, so you can keep all Frankie’s furs for yourself.
That’s a sleeping furball! LOL!
Pluck, pluck, pluck, so hard to resist not plucking
I miss my Zippo!!! Being part Newfy he really used to blow his coat…could not resist that plucking!!
Winter has our furs so confused. And yes, the Mom is plucking away – she admits she IS a pluckaholic.
Woos – Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
I SOOOOOOO know Kiska’s pain –
My mom won’t stop making Siberian snowballs -
Hugz&Khysses,

Yes, I admit it. We have one blowing a coat in Jan…in Alaska. What is that all about.
Just think of the sweaters that could be knit if you’d donate that floof! The Hu-Dad could make a fashion statement as the guy who really looks like his dogs!
Our Oakley is blowing his coat now, too! Funny thing is…if you pluck the fluff he acts as if you are removing a very essential body part! Ohhh the Siberian drama
My bunny sister’s fur is doing the same thing.
Your pal, Pip
Oh Frankie – already??? Maddox has had a few tufts but I beg him to not blow coat yet – winter isn’t over!
And yes, I love pulling those tufts out.
mom says she would help pluck it out, but would prefer you leave it somewhere outside our house – we leave enough furs around….
Mom is singing “When It’s Sibe-Plucking Time in the Carolinas”. Mom’s weird like that.
Play bows,
Zim
Must be a mom/dad-thing. (she always pulls on ours!)
jack & moo
Yes. Very tempting…
Happy Wednesday!
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza

My Daddy, IceMan, is starting to blow coat now, too, but so far, mine (me, Ayla) is still intact. My hu-Mom says there used to be a lady in Carcross, Yukon, who made sweaters, toques, mitts, scarves, etc. with “blown Siberian wool”, too, but not sure if she’s still there or not.
