Rusty’s Walking Challenge

When we say Rusty is challenge to walk, most of our readers think of this.

After all, you never know what game Rusty will decide to play while out on a walk.

But yesterday was just one of those days when every branch just seemed to catch his leash.

Every leap over a fallen tree resulted in a tangle.

Every twist resulted in a snag.

Every game resulted in a foul.

Every zig was met with out zag.

This bench looks safe.

I am going to stay right here. Hope you all have a tangle-free Monday.

Think what great stretching exercise the hu-dad got, bending over all those times to get the leash free… It’s just Rusty’s secret plot to keep his human flexible…

I guess we all have those days, Rusty! I hope your Monday is better, too. Ah, all that floof, just begging to be plucked!

Monty has many days like that, except he mainly manages to twist the leash around himself!

Normally Mom would think of Bob Dylan’s Tangled Up in Blue song -

But in Rusty’s khase, it would have to be Tangled Up in Red!

I have no idea why my mom is laughing so hard and looking at me … then looking at the pix of Rusty… then looking at me … then looking at R–well, you get the idea.

I hate days like that Rusty, but I am impressed how you kept your cool and took it in such good stride. You are such a happy dog! And I think your idea of just chillin’ on the bench was a good one. A pup can only take so many annoyances. :->

Life would be pretty dull without a Rusty – everyone should have a Rusty in their pack:)

It’s not just your Rusty… I’m starting to think that he’s really the long lost cousin of R. When I go wildlife tracking, I put both dogs on leash. K is fine – she’s learned how to navigate the world without getting tangled. But, R is too excited about life to even start to learn how to avoid entanglement!

Ooops, one more thing. I’m wondering if you’re a basketball fan. If so, I know who the herd is rooting for tonight!

Poor Rusty, how frustrating it is when the leash just does not cooperate! Relax on the bench! You deserve it!
