Rusty here. As everyone knows, I like to march to my own drummer and do my own thing, so I really do not spend a lot of time focused on what others think. So we were stunned to realize that we were in the lead – ever so slight – in the Reader’s Choice voting for Good Old Dog category in Mangominster – the “real” dogs alternative to that other Westminster thing. As of the time of this posting, the separation between the first and second contestant was a mere eight votes, so we need everyone who has not already voted – GO VOTE NOW!

We’re chewing on sour grapes. That was a GReat race today, Congratulations on winning the Reader’s Choice award. We’re still all a bit miffed/peeved this evening and it isn’t because of ya’ll. Right now we’d all qualify to win the Bad Sport category hands down, but we’ll get over it – eventually. We don’t mind losing out to Rusty in the Readers Choice voting but we really feel like we both got dis’ed, big time, in the judging. Now we don’t know Thor but we went to his blog and evidently he lives with Martha Stewart. Thor is a Damn Yankee from Pennsylvania, which we reckon is on the north side of the MD Line And Thor doesn’t even have a blog unless he’s distributing recipes for deviled eggs under an alias. As a matter of fact, we’re more miffed about Rusty’s situation than Jubal’s. Evidently Reader votes had absolutely nothing at all to do with the judging. Judge Thor’s 1st place winner garnered a respectable 31 votes, 6% of the total. The second place winner had only 6 readers votes; 1% of the total. The third place winner had a respectable 20 votes; 4% of the total. The two Honorable Mentions; one had 11 votes, 2% of the total and one had just 4 votes, 0% of the total -ZERO PERCENT. Ya’ll had a whooping 129 votes which is 27 PERCENT of the total, yet, surprisingly, you didn’t qualify in the judge’s decision for any of the 3 winning positions. DUH! We’ll we’ll be peeved in silence, ‘cept for this outburst, and hope that Patti-Whackit has a better judging situation in the Insane Cracker Dog category on Friday. Rusty, you sure look a lot like the late Ammy from the Ao4. You Sibes are a regal looking pack. Ya’ll don’t live too far away, just one state down; how’d ya like a couple of Landseers to bring your pack up to 8? We know where ya’ll can get ‘em real cheap. Just joshing. Well, we gotta go take another cold shower to cool off even though it’s snowing right now.

As a Upper Midwest resident, we are proponents of the late Mayor Richard Daley’s philosophy to “Vote Early and Vote Often.” Since the Mango Minster would only let us vote once, we voted yesterday for Rusty!
