Long Lost Sisters

We have shared this theory before, but this past weekend really made us question again whether Ruby and Cheoah might be long lost sisters.  Like all of The Herd and The Herd Annex – except for Natasha and Tartok – we do not actually know who their parents are.  We do know that they are of similar age and have many similar mannerisms.  Want to see?

Similar colors and markings - check out those faces.

Cheoah stretched out on the picket line.

Does this look familiar?

Same stride and way of holding the tail. (Can you even tell who is who?)

So what do YOU think?

Doggy DNA time? LOL. They do look so much alike! That would be really sweet and serendipitous if indeed they were blood-related. (do they squabble like sisters?)

It really doesn’t matter now does it? Ya’ll are sisters now, and that is all that matters!

If they aren’t sisters, they’re definitely cousins.

There are definitely similarities! I wouldn’t doubt it, at all! I haven’t been following your blog for very long so now I am going to go look for their back stories.

In a larger sense, aren’t we all brothers and sisters?

They both look like they were very carefully bred for good stock.

All of us pups are related, even distantly. So sisters, cousins, breeds, or dogs, we’re just hooked up. Thats all.

Happy Turkey Day to the Hu-Dad, the Herd and the Herd Annex!

    Kisses,
    Stella

I think the resemblance is pretty uncanny. Who knows, anything is possible, right?

I’ve been told by several people there is another dog in our city who looks like my Shiva’s twin. Since she’s pretty unique looking, I’d like to meet this dog myself.

We would surely have to agree. As to who is who, beats us:)

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us.

it certainly is weird but honestly tho, how often do you see siblings look so similar? i mean canine sibings. i always see more diversity among canine puppies/siblings than similarities. so i would think they are of similar family lines for sure but maybe not direct siblings? i donno. i’m no expert. what do you think? (seriously…curious if you see canine siblings who look alike)

They are certainly sisters of the heart…and of the Herd. Would a birth tie be any stronger? They are beautiful and healthy and loved…something many genetic families totally lack.

Happy Thanksgiving with hopes that you have a bounty of blessings for which to give thanks.

Wow! The similarities of those two beauties are just uncanny! My vote is “yes!” PS-Happy Thanksgiving to you and the Herd!

I think you are correct. They do look and seem to act alike. :)
