A perfect sunny day at the beach, as this picture shortly after sunrise attests.

After a week of storms and rain, we finally had a picture perfect day at the beach.  The skies dawned clear and we had the intermittent clouds that are common at the coast.  The temperatures were not too hot and the breezes were nice.  All in all, a terrific day that mother nature handed us.  So, like any normal family (go with us on that phrase), we decided to enjoy a day at the beach.

Kiska enjoying the coastal breezes.

Natasha laying on the hu-dad's beach towel, soaking up some sun.

Qannik watching the girl dogs go by (and, poor guy, working on things to say, since he is not known as Mr. Suave in meeting other dogs)

And the kids (and kids at heart) building sand castles.

Well, at least the moats. They were good at the moats.

What a great final day at the beach.  We will take one last long beach walk Saturday morning, pack up the RV, and head back up to our mountains – where the lows are at or just below freezing.  The beach was great – now the countdown to the first snow flurry!

  13. Hey you guys! Wow, we were just getting caught up on everything! What a wild time you chose to go to the beach! We’re glad you’re safe and look like you’re having TONS of fun! That moat-building looks so cool — Ammy said something about she “can dig it”, then she giggled. I don’t get it….

  14. I’m so glad that you finally had a beach day!

Love the moat photos! When we lived near a beach, that was our dogs’ favorite pastime. We have many photos (not yet scanned) of dog tails sticking up out of very deep holes!

I hope that your trip home is safe.

  15. So glad everyone finally got to have some fun on the beach. The Herd is going to love the crisp weather we are having here. What a relief!

  16. So glad your trip ended on a beautiful sunny day. What is a castle without a moat and moat diggers? BOL
