Relax, Have a Berry Treat

We do promise to have our pictures up soon of Sarge’s Downtown Dog Walk (as well as announce the winner of our Walking with The Herd Contest), but we do have a technical problem.  You see, we are waiting on the picture of us walking with the banner.  Ok, we have this one:

Walking with the banner.

But we are betting that you want to see the one with us in it and the FRONT of the banner.  But, since we could not be in two places at once, we will have it posted just as soon as we receive it.

In the meantime, just for our good buddy Cool Paw Luke, we bring you snack time from our hike yesterday.  We told you a couple of weeks ago about how the wild blackberries and blueberries are ripening and how The Herd has become masters at grabbing “to go” snacks.  Pictures from Sunday’s hike show that nothing has changed:

I see your two in the hand, but I will take the thousand in the bush, thank you.

Mmmmm - the ones way up high are really tasty.

And the ones in the middle of the bush are awesome.

We can wait! I’m amazed at the pictures of your pups eating berries off the bush. I wonder if our boys would now what to do?

Blueberries grow on bushes??? Ours come from the fridge. In fact, TD and Ciara just devoured a bowlful.

We need some of those bushes since it isn’t very easy to get the fridge door open.

Berry bushes are good, Steak bushes would be even better, do you have any of those in Maggie Valley?

We have blueberry and blackberry bushes in our yard, but the birds and squirrels get all of the berries before we do. We chase them off, but we can’t be there all the time. Maybe we will have to start napping under the bushes instead of in the house. Or we need more bushes so there will be some left over.

Being urban pups, we had dad make us blueberry pancakes and sausage for breakfast, instead of the au naturale approach!
