V-E-T Day

Our hu-dad was checking our medical records and discovered that some of us needed to visit the V-E-T this week.  Any guess which ones?

Correct. Everyone.

Natasha proudly displays how she gave blood for the cause.

Kiska is listening to somepup on the other side of the door.

Kodiak knows EXACTLY where the good stuff is kept.

Cheoah is doing a little shopping while waiting.

Qannik is just watching the doctor carefully.

And Rusty?

Rusty just wants to go home - RIGHT NOW!

Some interesting tidbits from our visit -

  • Most importantly, everyone is healthy.  All of the bloodwork results will come later this week, but nothing showed us any concerns.
  • Cheoah, our littlest, gained 3 pounds to 41.7 pounds (19 kg).
  • Kodiak lost a pound to 57 pounds, so Qannik now holds the title of biggest at 58 pounds (26 kg)
  • Kiska is normally our most nervous, but her pulse rate registered at a cool 80 beats per minute.
  • After Kiska, the following pulse rates were taken in this order – Natasha – 90, Cheoah – 100, Kodiak 110.  10 beat increments.  Always trying to hit patterns, huh?
  • Rusty, well, was really not happy and registered a pulse rate of 140 beats per minute.  As always, Rusty marches to his own drummer (groan – bad joke).
  • Rusty was so eager to leave he left his treat on the exam room floor.
  • The staff at Animal Hospital of Waynesville are the best.  Dr. Kristen Hammett and team handled the chaos of The Herd with great professionalism and efficiency.  Thanks all!

    Hello there!
Glad to know all went well at the vet!
Did you turn back for the treat on the floor, Rusty?

    Cheers,

I bow to you! Being able to take six dogs to the vet at once and be able to take pictures of them all makes you some kind of hero in my book!

Rusty, next time you can hide here!

That first point is certainly my favorite! I know how much it costs when we bring our four in at once – I bet I’d wince even more at your vet bills…

Oh my – I try to avoid taking TWO (or formerly, three) dogs at the same time because of the chaos. I can’t even imagine SIX! You must have zen-like qualities.

I bet the vets love it when you show up. One visit from the Herd probably pays for their entire vacation!! :-)

PS. Mom says she doesn’t envy your hu-dad because she can’t hardly stand the bill with just us.

We are with Rusty! We both always pee the floor – Martha has to be carried in – we both keep making a dive for the door everytime someone comes in.
You guys, apart from Rusty, seemed so calm…….we loved the shopping pic!
Glad you are all healthy. Martha currently has her postcard to visit the vet!!!!!

I usually don’t mind going to the vet, but I hate being up on the table!

I can’t believe Rusty left his treat!

And, the gold medal for patience and stamina? Goes you the human peeps for braving a multi-dog V-E-T visit. I helped a friend with 6 dogs do that once, and I was exhausted.

Glad to hear a good v-e-t report. Rusty, Kona tries the same door-scratch move when she’s at the vet and she also knows that leaving is much more important than picking up treats.

What we really needed to see were the faces of everyone else in the clinic when the Herd arrived! But I am glad to hear everypup is well.

Great expressive photographs. We take both dogs for their physicals at the same time. I cannot imagine taking six of them.

Wow! Now my human is really in awe! Not only washing all of you – but taking all of you to the vet together!

hee! Hee! I loved seeing all the different things different members of the herd were doing at the vets. And wow – I didn’t realise Sibes were so light! I htink it’s coz of your floofy coats that you look like quite big dogs but 26kg? That’s like only 1/3 of me! :D

We are glad to hear your vet visit was uneventful. we stopped at our vets this morning for a weight check only. Mom had to help our vet with her computer! She’s a great vet – just computer idiot!!! We can’t believe Rusty left his treat on the floor. Did one of you pick it up for him?

AWwww, the kind of report we all love to see. So glad all is well. TD had his spa day and wellness check today too. He was not a happy camper having to get both a bath/brushing AND a whole bunch of inoculations. But all is well here too.

I agree.. One thing to know about being a pet owner is that it is never easy. While pets bring joy and companionship to our lives on a daily basis, they also require training, veterinary care, time, love, attention, and even tolerance.
