A Walk in the Park

As we mentioned yesterday, we were looking for a home for a sweet little lady that we met last week at Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation.  Last Saturday, we were driving through town and noticed that Sarge’s was having an adoption fair.  We glanced over and this beautiful red-head was sitting there looking at us.  We did a quick u-turn and spent some time with her.  Isn’t she just precious?

Now you might notice that she is wearing a brand new seatbelt and collar.  Why?  Because she is in her very first car ride with her new parents – and brother.  Yes, Khyra guessed correctly.  Our little girl is our new cousin and will be living with Tartok!

Everyone had met last weekend, but we did another introductory walk in our city park today.  Here the little girl is getting to meet the entire Herd.  No shyness about her and she is not intimidated by that many Sibes.

And after a long walk, we went back to the car and got some fresh water.  Despite all of the excitement, it is hard to keep the eyes open, isn’t it?

One last thing we need.  A name.  We have tried many (Khyra, your suggestion of Tartok backwards – Kotrat – we decided to skip on.  But thanks for the suggestion).  Her shelter name was Lilly, but that is not going to be the permanent name.  Last night, we were playing with Ruby Red.  Ruby is an aunt who passed away many years ago, but was always a very colorful character.  So the name seems to fit.  But before we are final, any suggestions?

I think it should be something that starts with T, to match Tartok. Other than that, I have no suggestions, aside from Stella :)

I kinda figured the pawtential name wouldn’t work!

    Ruby is good;

Tawny has some pawtential to stay with the T naming khonvention!

BUT, whatever it is she ends up being khalled, KHONGRATS!

    AND khudos fur saving another!

She is gorgeous, and it sounds like she has a golden spirit. I love dog stories with happy endings.

She really must be confident and relaxed if she’s already able to be sleepy with the herd around!

    That is SO COLL!
I like the name Ruby Red. As in Ruby Red Slippers. Ha roo roo roo!
Ammy said it’s very fitting, as this girl is a gem of a Sibe!
Whatever you decide to call her, we’re just glad she’s calling herself HOME.
Congrats on your new cousin – and welcome home, beautiful girl!
    Play bows,

My Mom has some Russian blood and she likes the name Duscha, meaning sweetheart or soul. A second choice might be Anitchka, a form of Anna. Alena is a form of Helen.

But we both like Duscha best! The dog is beautiful and I am happy she has a great new home!

    Kisses,
    Stella

We think “Sakari” (sweet) or “Shila” (flame) or “Sura” (new life)

But whatever she is named, she is very bewooootiful!

Hi DK! so awesome you rescued her. I think it’s Ruby. I just love that name. or maybe a russian translation Ruby to go with Tartok? she’s so beautiful. those eyes…. damn sibes get me every time. i’m so glad i only have 1. if i had more, i’d be insane. ;)

Hey, so I’m out of inernet access for a few days (sorry i can’t comment on past few days blog postings)… my ISP is gone kaplunk and I won’t have my wi-fi system set up til tuesday. so for now, limited blogage postings to friends… but i have a quick question if you can email me off line. what seat belts do you use? i need a seat belt harness for my mini cooper for both dogs. the harness i did get must be “stepped into” by 2 front paws and Loki really hates it and it’s hard to put on. other regular harnesses we’ve had in the past slipped over the head, went across the chest and undert the belly behind front legs and had quick release buckles that buckled on the side body or the back. i’m looking for something like that…not something they have to “step feet” into…it’s a nightmare. any suggestions? email me if you can! i can get/send email just fine but can’t browse easily.

    thanks!

I’m so bad with names lol. I do like Ruby though. One of my former co-workers named her cat Kahlua and her new kitten is Quila (as in tequila). I thought it was funny naming them after alcoholic beverages (not much of a drinker myself so had never heard of Kahlua before). Anyway just a suggestion. :)

Ruby Red is a pretty good name. She is really beautiful. I’m so glad Tartok has a sister and Ruby has a new home.

Will Cheoah still get to go over and play with Tartok?
