Shoulder to Shoulder

This picture is harder to get than you think.  At least one member of The Herd is always sniffing something, peeing, or otherwise outside of the picture.  But, in a rare moment, we actually have all six together in a shot.  Left to right – Rusty, Kodiak, Cheoah, Natasha, Qannik and Kiska. Not that we would reuse the Sibe by Sibe joke. Nope. Not us.

As many of you have noticed, yes, this is the usual order that they walk in.  Kiska always, always, always wants to be on the far right.  Whether it is an eyesight issue or not, she has never liked any moving object to be on her right side.  And Rusty always wants to be on the far left so that he can play.  The others may trade up some, but they are usually in this order.

Great photo! I cannot imagine how you walk six dogs at one time. They must be very well behaved!

We also noticed that Qannik likes to be in the middle. We understand how hard it would be to get six in one shot – Mom can hardly do it right with just two.

    Happy weekend, the OP Pack

Too bad you couldn’t get the picture from the front as well! But I suppose you’re used to looking at this angle a lot on hikes. :)

Look at all the floofy tails!

Now I have to go listen to the song “Disco Ball” by Saucy Monky. Disco ball, spin around, shoulder to shoulder …

I noticed that Qannik is usually between his 2 girls…and If I didn’t know sibes like I do, I’d want one from your Herd! LOL…

I noticed too that Qannick was usually between Natasha and Kiska. But I wasn’t sure if they were protecting him from rogue food bags that might leap out from the forest or if it was an ego thing to have two girls paying attention to him.

Maybe that’s why Steve is always on the left. He wants to play. I think it’s also because we walk facing traffic and the trees are on the left. So maybe Steve wants to pee, not play.

That’s a great shot!!! Our mom has a hard time getting the four of us to walk together if she has the camera ready. Or even three of us. Or two of us. Ha roo roo roo!

Interesting shot! Although we have only two, the order is always the same…Lucy on the outside and Ellie next to us.
